The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has approached the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) following allegations of match-fixing and spot-fixing linked to the Delhi Premier League (DPL).
DDCA secretary Ashok Sharma confirmed that the association has written to the BCCI seeking guidance on how to proceed with the matter. The allegations emerged from a sting operation involving former Ranji Trophy player Rachit Bhatia, who was filmed making claims about fixing matches and sharing information before games.
The match specifically linked to the DPL allegations was the seventh game of the 2026 edition, played between Central Delhi Kings and North Delhi Strikers at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
According to the claims made during the sting operation, Bhatia said he had access to information before the toss. He also alleged that he had been involved in fixing matches involving Chennai Super Kings during the 2025 Indian Premier League and in spot-fixing during the 2018-19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Available records show that Bhatia played two T20 matches for Nagaland during that season and took two wickets.
The DDCA, however, has maintained that the allegations are unverified and has denied any wrongdoing in the DPL. The association said it is prepared to provide the BCCI with all available evidence and described its Anti-Corruption Unit during the third edition of the league as robust.
Bhatia also spoke about obtaining information through a Chennai Super Kings player if fixing were to take place in the IPL or DPL. This led to speculation around Vansh Bedi, who was associated with both CSK and the Delhi Premier League.
DDCA secretary Ashok Sharma said that if Bedi were found to have been involved in any wrongdoing, he would face serious consequences. Bedi was bought by CSK for ₹55 lakh ahead of the 2025 IPL season.
The DDCA subsequently issued an official statement urging caution over the allegations.
“DDCA would like to clarify that the allegations referred to in these reports are unverified and have not been established by any competent authority,” the association said.
It added that it would be inappropriate to draw conclusions about any player or franchise solely on the basis of such allegations.
The matter now moves to the BCCI, with the DDCA awaiting further direction while the claims remain unestablished.
