Students appearing for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations in 2027 are still waiting for the examination timetable, with the board yet to announce even a tentative datesheet as October draws to a close.
The delay has raised questions among students, parents and schools, particularly because CBSE had released the tentative schedule for the 2026 examinations in September 2025, followed by the final datesheet in October.
The board has not announced a reason for the delay or confirmed when the 2027 timetable will be released.
The List of Candidates (LOC) submission process for the 2026-27 academic session began on September 24. Schools were required to submit candidate details by October 21 under the regular window. CBSE subsequently allowed an extended submission period from October 22 to October 30, with a late fee of ₹2,000 per candidate.
A correction window for specified changes in candidate details is scheduled from November 2 to November 4.
The completion of the LOC process is an important step in the examination preparations, as it establishes the list of students appearing for the board examinations. However, CBSE has not indicated whether the completion of this process will be followed by an immediate datesheet announcement.
The board also conducted special examinations for Class 12 students in West Asian countries between October 23 and 28. The results could be relevant for students seeking to appear in the 2027 examinations, although CBSE has not clarified whether these examinations have affected the timetable announcement.
For comparison, CBSE released the tentative datesheet for the 2026 board examinations on September 24, 2025, and the final schedule on October 30. The tentative timetable was announced 146 days before the examinations began. For the 2025 examinations, the datesheet was released on November 20, 2024.
The board has not provided a confirmed release date for the 2027 schedule. Students can check for updates on the official website, cbse.gov.in, and continue preparing with the sample question papers and marking schemes released for the 2026-27 academic session.
