The Delhi Police Crime Branch has summoned Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka and Ajinkya Shinde for questioning on Thursday, October 22. The summons is linked to the cases registered over their protest at Jantar Mantar. The three must appear at the Crime Branch office in Rajouri Garden at 12 noon.
The summons comes a day after Das and Ranka were released from Tihar Jail, where they spent a week in judicial custody. Delhi Police transferred the two cases against the CJP leaders to the Crime Branch this week, while Das and Ranka were still in custody.
According to Delhi Police, Das, Ranka, Ajinkya Shinde and 11 other CJP members reached Jantar Mantar on October 13 by trespassing through private premises. Jantar Mantar has been denotified as a designated protest site.
