At just 15, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has already built a record list that would be remarkable for a player several years into an international career. From becoming the youngest batter to score a T20 century to rewriting a 57-year-old Duleep Trophy record, the teenager has continued to break age and speed milestones across formats.
His first major landmark came in T20 cricket, when Sooryavanshi became the youngest player to score a T20 century, reaching the milestone at 14 years and 32 days. The innings established his reputation as a batter capable of producing extraordinary power at an age when most players are still progressing through junior cricket.
He soon added another major record in List A cricket. At 14 years and 272 days, Sooryavanshi became the youngest player to score a List A century, further demonstrating that his aggressive batting could translate beyond T20 cricket.
His ability to score at an extraordinary pace produced another world record in June 2026. Playing for India A against Sri Lanka A, he smashed a 50 off just 11 balls, making it the fastest fifty in List A cricket. He eventually scored 94 from 29 deliveries, with 10 fours and eight sixes.
International cricket brought another milestone. Sooryavanshi became the youngest player to make his debut for India, doing so at 15 years and 99 days. He then became the youngest batter to score a T20I fifty, reaching the landmark at 15 years and 118 days against Zimbabwe.
His latest record came in the Duleep Trophy semi-final against Central Zone. Sooryavanshi scored 92 from 81 balls, including seven fours and seven sixes, and became the youngest batter to score a fifty in Duleep Trophy history, achieving the feat at 15 years and 157 days. He broke a record that had stood for 57 years.
The six milestones underline the extraordinary range of Sooryavanshi’s early career: youngest T20 centurion, youngest List A centurion, fastest List A fifty, youngest Team India debutant, youngest T20I half-centurion and youngest Duleep Trophy half-centurion.
For a player still only 15, the more remarkable part may be how quickly the records are arriving across different levels and formats. His next challenge will be turning this remarkable collection of milestones into sustained success as the standard of opposition continues to rise.
